Welcome to the Garden

There is something grounding about growing something with your own hands. A seed tucked into soil. Herbs on a windowsill. Tomatoes ripening in the sun. A garden asks us to pay attention—to seasons, to conditions, to what needs tending, and to the fact that worthwhile things rarely happen all at once.
Here in the Garden, we’ll learn the practical things too. How to begin when you’ve never grown anything before. What to plant and when. How to grow herbs, vegetables, flowers, and food in whatever space you have. We’ll follow the seasons, get our hands dirty, celebrate the first harvest, and inevitably wonder what on earth we’re supposed to do with seventeen zucchinis.
But we’ll grow a few things that don’t come in seed packets, too.
Curiosity. Patience. Consistency. Knowledge. Small practices worth tending.
Because whether we’re caring for a garden or ourselves, we don’t have to force everything to grow overnight. We can learn what supports growth, pay attention to what happens, make adjustments along the way, and keep tending what matters.
Come on in. Let’s see what we can grow.

Let’s Get Growing

Whether you’re planting your first seed or you’ve been growing things for years, there’s always something new to learn in the Garden. Start with the basics, grow something you can eat, or follow the seasons as they change.

What’s Growing Now

Late Summer in the Garden

Late summer is a season of abundance—and a little bit of catching up. Tomatoes are ripening, herbs are asking to be harvested, and summer crops may be producing faster than you can use them.
But the garden is already beginning to look ahead. In many places, cooler-season planting is just around the corner, making this a good time to notice what is thriving, gather what is ready, and begin preparing for what comes next.

There is still plenty to plant, plenty to harvest, and plenty worth tending.

Plant

There may still be time for more.
Depending on your climate, late summer can be a good time to sow quick-growing greens, radishes, and other cool-season crops—or to begin planning for fall.
Planting times vary by growing zone and local frost dates.

Tend

Give summer plants a little attention.
Keep harvesting regularly, water deeply when needed, remove tired or damaged growth, and watch heavy-producing plants for signs that they need support.

Harvest

Gather what the garden is giving you.
Tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, beans, zucchini, herbs, and other summer favorites may be at their peak. Harvest often and enjoy, share, freeze, or preserve the extras.

Prepare

Start looking toward the season ahead.
Think about fall planting, save seeds from favorites, preserve what you can, and make a few notes about what thrived—and what you might do differently next year.

From the Garden to the Kitchen
Growing it is only half the fun.
What comes out of the garden doesn’t have to end with the harvest. Bring it inside, pull up a cutting board, and let’s turn what’s growing into something worth gathering around the table for.
Seasonal recipes, simple ways to use what you’ve grown, and a little inspiration for the extras.

The Garden Within

Not everything we grow comes from the soil.

Some things are cultivated quietly.
Curiosity. Patience. Consistency. The ability to begin again. The wisdom to notice what needs tending—and what might need a little more time.
This side of the Garden is about those things. A place to pay attention to the seasons of your life, plant small practices, and tend what you want to grow.

Seasonal Wisdom

Notice the rhythms, transitions, and lessons
that come with every season of life.

Grow Your Practice

The Seed Collection

Plant one small thing. See what grows.

Not every seed in this Garden goes into the soil. Some are ideas, questions, practices, and small things worth cultivating. Choose one. Plant it somewhere in your life. Then give it a little time.
